1. Trying to be perfect is a waste of time.
Whether you realize it or not, every single person in the world is insecure about some part of their life.
No matter how many times you "fix" something you dislike about yourself, there will always be something else you find that you dislike.
Perfection has become a distorted concept. It's different for everyone, so trying to achieve it is, well, pointless.
The time to abandon the self sabotaging voice in your head is now. Make a conscious effort to love and accept ALL of yourself.
You are perfectly imperfect.
2. There is no "right" time.
This applies to the exact situation that popped into your head when you read the above statement!
If you're waiting for the perfect moment to do something, you're never going to get it done.
Whether it be finishing that piece of art you started six months ago, beginning the recovery process, or just getting out of bed, the time is right now.
Why wait for the perfect moment when trying to be perfection doesn't exist?
3. It's okay to say no.
Do you know how long it took me to even begin to comprehend this concept? Basically my entire life. I'm still trying to figure this out, honestly.
I remember sitting in my seat at a monthly meeting for an organization I volunteer with, and just cringing. I had just said yes to designing a logo, creating a website, writing an article, and speaking at an upcoming event. As we were about to adjourn, someone asked me to do one last thing. The word "no" slipped out from between my lips before they could even finish their sentence. I was SHOCKED with myself!
But, oh, it felt so good to stand up for myself and admit that I just had too much going on to take on anything else!
Exercise your right to say no. It's okay!
